The Liberal Democrats have released details of a series of country-wide pre-election hustings for the two candidates ahead of July's upcoming leadership election. Candidates Tim Farron, MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale since 2005 and former Shadow Minister for the Countryside and Rural Affairs (2007-11), and Norman Lamb, MP for North Norfolk since 2001 and former Minister of State for Care and Support (2012-15), will both be available for the scheduled question and answer sessions.
The events are taking place across the country and full details can be found at http://www.libdems.org.uk/leadership_events . The hustings scheduled for the South East/Central regions is going to take place in Southampton, the details are:
Date: 12th June 2015
Venue: The Garden Court, Student Union Building, Building 40, Highfield Campus of Southampton University.
Since polling on 7 May 2015, more than 16,500 people have joined the Liberal Democrats and anyone who joined before the end of May is entitled to vote in the election of the new party leader.
Ballot papers for the election of the party's new leader will be dispatched to members on 24th June and the deadline for their return is 15th July 2015. The count and declaration of the party's new leader will take place the following day.
